These performances and readings of At the Back of the North Wind have been directed by Sam Scalamoni, a founding member and managing artistic director of New Jersey’s Skyline Theatre Company. Sam has worked with creators Haddow and Tierney as they have developed the stage musical from their original screenplay. Sam also served as the associate director for Elton John's Broadway musical Lestat and Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
He directed two readings of Alan Menken's new Broadway musical Leap of Faith, and the original workshop of Mulan Jr. for Disney Theatrical. He is the co-writer of Tierney and Haddow’s new stage musical Summer Stock based on the MGM film starring Judy Garland and Gene Kelly. This fall he will direct a reading of Haddow’s new musical based on Jane Austen’s Sense & Sensibility (www.senseandsensibilitymusical.com), and in 2010 will helm a new live touring show for Nickelodeon.
